On November 21, 2019, Tuerk House unveiled our newly renovated patient residential suites and welcomed Director James Carroll from the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Director Carroll helped us dedicate the new space and presented Executive Director Bernard Gyebi-Foster with the Director’s Award for Distinguished Service. This is the first time Director Carroll has presented this honor to someone outside of the Federal government. The renovations will allow us to help up to 40 patients at one time to detox from drugs and alcohol and start on the road to enduring recovery. We also welcomed our friends and supporters at CareFirst who presented us with a generous gift of $200,000! These funds will allow us to obtain a new automated medication dispensing system that will help us better serve our patients.
