Non-profit drug and alcohol treatment system selected in competitive solicitation process to operate the 24 hour drop-off addiction treatment readiness center in Multnomah County, Oregon.
Tuerk House, a healthcare delivery system serving the most disadvantaged community members in Greater Baltimore, announced today that it has been selected by Multnomah County, Oregon, to operate its Deflection Center, a 24-hour drop-off addiction treatment readiness center, beginning Sept. 1.
The installation of the Deflection Center comes after the state of Oregon passed House Bill 4002, recriminalizing possession of small amounts of drugs. As part of the bill, legislators included provisions for some to have the opportunity to pursue Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment. In response, Multnomah County’s Deflection Center, under Tuerk House’s management, will screen individuals, connect them to trained peers to help people move toward recovery, and identify pathways to detox and treatment.

Tuerk House was one of numerous providers to participate in a competitive solicitation process in June 2024. After a transparent and independent review, the organization emerged as a top choice.
